A POSITIVE REFLECTION

Positive mindset is applicable to anyone. Starting from school students to the cooperate sector. Think what you have done well! What went well with your life, not what went wrong! Think of subjects that you are good at, not at what you are weak. It’s high time that we get rid of our primary Sri Lankan mentality where we all try to follow the mainstream, eventually creating a bottleneck in the job market. Have you ever thought of becoming a photographer? What do you know about the artistic eye of a film director like James Cameron? Musical thoughts of a musician like Yanni? J.K Rowling’s wonder lands? Life is not always about what others do. Stop running someone else’s race! Make your own race and start running in your own track. Otherwise looking back at your life, someday you will be disappointed, for not being who you are, for not doing what you love.

People tend to whine about what they do not have. They always think of what they should have to do what they want to do and think having 'that' will make them whom they want to be. For example it can be having a professional camera to become a photographer. The concept, “Be, Do, Have” gives the best answer for the problem. According to the concept, first you have to be who you want to be. Then you do what you want to do. What you do will take you 'there' where you will have what you wanted. For example you think you could be a good photographer if you have a good camera. True, but 'be' a photographer first. Take some pictures with the camera you have or borrow your friend’s camera. Now you are a photographer. You always wanted to do what a photographer does. You have already done that. Keep taking nice shots here and there. Show them to a photographer or to someone who would recognize your talent. If they recognize your talent they will probably facilitate you. If not you can create your own webpage and upload your snaps, maybe you can sell them. Now you 'have' money. Remember you wanted a good camera? If you have made good money, of course you can buy your ‘good camera’. Now you “have” what you wanted. Some do not understand this simple reality because they are hasty. Maybe they don’t know. Nothing is easy. Just stick into your dream. Of course you need to check the feasibility but never give up. Live you dream!
